PEABODY, MA (July 13, 2005) – John Wood, President and CEO of Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG), will testify before the Homeland Security Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, July 13, in a hearing on “Leveraging Technology to Improve Aviation Security.” The Committee is charged with protecting and improving our nation’s domestic security. The hearing is expected to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Building on the Company’s leadership in advanced medical imaging equipment, Analogic has emerged as a major player in aviation security with half of all U.S. airports using its technology for screening checked luggage. In addition to being awarded several grants from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the design and development of next-generation scanners, the Company recently completed a pilot program at Boston’s Logan International Airport with its Carry-On Baggage Real-time Assessment (COBRA™) system, designed to enhance checkpoint security. The compact COBRA, which utilizes Computed Tomography (CT) technology, represents a revolutionary advance over current conventional scanners in that it automatically detects explosives and weapons while providing high-resolution 3-D images that can be rotated 360 degrees with the tip of a finger.

Wood will present testimony on how Analogic’s innovative technology can be used to create frictionless travel and more user-friendly checkpoints, as well as to reduce costs.
